Ready Steady Stick: February 14th. How it went

READY STEADY STICK

AN AWESOME ADVENTURE

FEBRUARY 14TH 2-4 P.M.

AND IT WAS AN AWESOME ADVENTURE

On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Ready, Steady Stick met in the Measham Church Hall for its first outing of 2017. This year we hope to centre on the teaching and qualities of Jesus.

47 children (from tiny babies to pre-teens) attended this event, almost certainly a record for half-term event. The theme, not surprisingly, was love, and the story was 'Jesus' healing of the son of a Roman official who realised that Jesus had the power to help. Because he trusted Jesus, Jesus responded with love, the same love he has for each of us. There was a great deal of participation from the children as the story was acted out and explained through a simple illustration using a heart-shaped balloon.

There were biscuits to decorate, hearts to make, angels with heart shaped wings, Roman Helmets, fridge magnets and of course, junk modelling! Some children made a banner, which can be seen in the church.

We sang songs, played games and ended with a drink and a biscuit. A good time was had by all and we look forward to the next event at Easter
