Wilma has been Rev-ed up!

Revd Wilma Colley has arrived with us In Woodfield Team. Sunday 30th June was glorious day for her, and for those who able to get to Leicester Cathedral to share the day with her.

Wilma was ordained deacon by Bishop Guli, Bishop of Loughborough - here are some pictures to give a flavour of the day:

Then the rest of us got in on the act

Wilma says: "I and ten colleagues had the privilege of being ordained as Deacons into the Church of England by Bishop Guli. The service took place in a packed Leicester Cathedral. Among those who came to witness this event were families and friends, old and new. It was a very emotional occasion with some tears of joy and much laughter. The celebrations continued with people coming back to Groby Vicarage to join my husband Noel and I for a buffet lunch and a glass or two of prosecco! For me, this was a major step in my faith journey, and I look forward to continuing my journey serving in the Woodfield team over the next few years"

And what was this earnest conversation between Vivien and Bishop Martyn?
