Safeguarding of adults

The safeguarding of vulnerable adults is taken very seriously by the church. It is of significant importance and we recognize the contribution we can make to protect and support vulnerable adults. 

The PCC has adopted the safeguarding policy of the Diocese of Leicester. The model policy can be found at http://www.leicester.anglican.org/diocese-office/children-young-people/adult-safeguarding/

That page also gives details of the diocesan safeguarding officer along with other contact details in the event that you need them. Our aim is to promote the welfare, safety and health of all by enocuraging an open, honest, caring and supportive environment.

Safeguarding - who to contact

If you have concerns about the immediate safety of a vulnerable adult,
you should report the matter immediately to either of the following:

  Leicester City (incl. out of hours) - 0116 454 1004
 Leicestershire Adult Services - 0116 305 0004

If you have concerns but the vulnerable adult is not in immediate
danger, at paris level you should contact Team Vicar, Revd Rick Tett on 01530 610235 or woodfieldteamvicar@gmail.com  or our safeguarding coordinator Mrs Pat Thomas on safeguarding@stjohnschurchdonisthorpe.org.uk They will then contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser.  If
neither priest nor Coordinator are availbale you should contact the Adviser
yourself:

Juniper Lodge which offers a comprehensive service to anyone over 18years who has experienced rape or sexual assault recently or in the past
